The Pejman Mar Founder's Program is designed, hosted and supported by Pejman Mar Ventures, an early stage tech venture fund based in downtown Palo Alto.
Pejman and Mar have previously seeded the founders of Dropbox, Zoosk, Lending Club, Homejoy, ZenPayroll, Soundhound and many others.
The Basic Idea
The goal of the Pejman Mar Summer Founder's Program is to provide funding and support to a select group of Stanford start-ups.
At least one of the Founders must have been enrolled at Stanford within the last three years. This is is the only requirement for participation.
We will fund a maximum of five teams. We expect teams to have anywhere from one to five Founders.
An important part of this program is that each Founder will be an active member of the Pejman Mar community.
Founders will have the option to live with other Program participants in a house near the Stanford Campus.
Founders will have access to Pejman Mar's hacker space in downtown Palo Alto, where there will have regular internal touch points with all the founders.
There will be weekly office hours with other world-class founders, top tier Venture Capitalists, angel investors, and industry experts.
Founders will also have the opportunity to attend exclusive events, including intimate fireside chats with iconic visionaries.
The program begins on June 22nd, 2014 and concludes on September 8th, 2014.
We will award $5,000 per team, with an additional $7,500 per founder (maximum $25,000 per team). This will be done on an uncapped convertible note.
In addition, we will provide assistance with incorporation and any subsequent paperwork.
Upon completion of the program, the teams will not be required to continue working at their respective projects.
However, if upon completion of the program, the team decides to further their start-up, they will continue to have access to Pejman Mar Ventures' resources, and will be eligible for additional funding.
